Welcome to Islamic Foundation, Villa Park

Home

The Islamic Foundation was established in 1974 in the Western Suburbs of Chicago to fulfill the Muslim Community’s religious, educational, social and cultural needs. Today it is one of the most active and leading Islamic organizations in North America and is recognized nationally and internationally.

Its current major facilities include a mosque, full-time Islamic school for children, KG through 12th grade including pre-school (over 600 students enrolled), Islamic Weekend School (over 600 students enrolled), Islamic bookstore, a banquet/lecture hall for 600 people, equipped with kitchen, and a residence for an Imam. In addition, the Foundation has established its own cemetery with a space for 1125 gravesites.

The Islamic Foundation Mosque is probably the largest in North America, with a capacity for about 2000 worshipers. It was completed in 1998 at a cost of 3.6 million dollars (not including the cost of land), that was raised exclusively from within our own community. In addition to a large number of volunteers, the Foundation has over 100 employees on its payroll and raises about 4 million dollars every year from within its community for maintenance and operational expenses and for providing various services to the community as described later.
