Judge Sentences Inam Rahim
Inam Rahim pleaded guilty to a Class One Felony Theft in April 2015, admitting that he stole money from the Islamic Foundation of Villa Park from 2009 until he was terminated in 2011. After a two-day sentencing hearing where the DuPage County Prosecutor put on evidence of the severity of the crime, and Inam Rahim put on evidence to help him seek mercy, the DuPage County Judge weighed the evidence and decided that the severity of the crime required that Rahim be sent to prison. Accordingly, on October 1, 2015 the judge sentenced Inam Rahim to five years in prison followed by two years of supervised release. In addition, Inam Rahim was ordered to pay $450,000 in restitution to the Islamic Foundation of Villa Park.
